Nicholas Mort

Director - Futures Teaching Alliance

Nick is the Director of Futures Teaching Alliance and Futures Education Institute, where he drives recruitment, CPDL, and partnership development to enhance professional development for teachers.

He originally trained as a secondary History & Politics teacher in mainstream 11-18 schools after beginning his career with Management Consultancy PricewaterhouseCoopers. Nick has worked as a Middle and Senior Leader in a diverse range of schools, including several inner-city 11-18 mainstream schools, gaining the National Professional Qualification for Headship in the process.

In his current role, Nick leads recruitment, CPDL, and partnership development regionally, working with teachers, leaders, and education professionals across Warwickshire, West Midlands, Leicestershire, Oxfordshire, and Northamptonshire to provide teachers with the ‘Golden Thread’ of professional development. As a Regional Delivery Partner of Best Practice Network, Nick is a member of the BPN National Advisory Board. He is also a Trustee of the national charity the Attachment Research Community and serves as Vice-Chair of Governors of a maintained Coventry Primary School.
