Chris holds a Joint Honors Degree in Geography and Political Science and is a qualified teacher with over 20 years of classroom experience. He has enhanced his expertise through various professional training programs related to school leadership, including the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) and a period of service as a qualified Ofsted Inspector.
Chris brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles, most notably as Headteacher of Barr's Hill School, which he successfully led from 'floor' to Outstanding over an eight-year period that encompassed both the pandemic and a major building project. Before that, he led educational transformation projects at President Kennedy School, where he served as the architect of the first 'Bridge' in The Futures Trust, which he led from inception. He played a senior role throughout the school's journey from Inadequate to Outstanding.
Chris has served as Vice Chair of the Coventry Secondary Partnership, advocating for local collaboration, and currently sits on the Teach First West Midlands Steering Group. He is also an experienced school governor for both primary and secondary schools.
